Lighting Installation in Stuart, FL

Good lighting changes how a home feels.

Lighting is the most visible electrical work in a home — and the most transformative. Recessed lights that retire the single sad ceiling fixture, under-cabinet lighting that makes a kitchen work, landscape lighting that shows off the yard after dark.

We design and install residential lighting across Stuart and Martin County: interior, exterior, and landscape. Wired to code, dimmed properly, and quoted in writing before work begins.

Interior Lighting

Recessed (can) lights for even, modern general lighting — the single most-requested interior upgrade we do. Under-cabinet lighting for kitchens that actually illuminates the counters. Pendant lights over islands and dining tables, wired with proper support boxes.

Every fixture gets a dimmer matched to its bulbs, because lighting you cannot dim is lighting you will eventually resent. We also fix the aftermath of bad DIY installs: fixtures hung from boxes never meant to hold them, and dimmers fighting the LEDs they control.

Landscape and Security Lighting

Low-voltage landscape lighting for palms, walkways, and waterfront views — the kind of lighting that makes a Stuart evening on the patio. Motion-sensor security lighting for driveways and side yards. All of it on weather-rated fixtures and GFCI-protected circuits, because outdoor electrical near the river and coast lives a hard life.

We plan the layout with you: what to highlight, what to keep dark, and where the glare lands for the neighbors.

LED Retrofits

Swapping old recessed cans, fluorescents, and halogen fixtures to LED cuts the lighting electric bill dramatically and ends the era of hot fixtures and constant bulb changes. We retrofit existing housings where they are sound and replace the ones that are not.

The catch is dimmer compatibility — old dimmers and new LEDs often disagree. We match or replace the dimmers as part of the retrofit so the lights dim smoothly instead of flickering.

Common questions

Can you add recessed lights where there are none?

Usually yes. We cut in the housings, run the wiring, and wire the switches — often without major drywall repair. Attic access makes it straightforward; slab ceilings take more planning.

Will landscape lighting run up my electric bill?

Barely — modern low-voltage LED landscape lighting sips power. A whole yard of it typically costs less to run than one old halogen floodlight did.

My new LEDs flicker on the dimmer. Why?

Dimmer/LED mismatch, almost always. We match the dimmer to the bulbs as part of every lighting job so this doesn't happen.

Do outdoor lights need GFCI protection?

Outdoor and landscape circuits require GFCI protection and weather-rated equipment. We wire every exterior job that way — no exceptions near the water.
